While Maryland is technically a southern state, it falls short of a true southern tradition.
Sweet iced tea. When you can go into any restaurant (real restaurant, not McDonalds) and order sweet tea, you are in the south. We are heading to VA today to visit friends. Once we drive into Richmond, we get the good stuff.

mmm mmm good. REAL SWEET TEA! but on the everyday McDonald's is the best we can get up here... and its only $1 can't be that!
